Titles are one of the important factors to let the searchers know what your article is about. Attention-grabbing titles increase the CTR rate & website traffic.
The title tag is in a way the name of your article, which appears in the search results. But a good title tag does not only benefit search results but when someone shares the link of your article on social media or when you yourself share your link on social media, then it shows the preview of your page which Looks great and increases the chances of getting clicks.
To write a perfect title, first, we have to see that what should be the length of our title, there is no rule from Google about the title tag length that you can use only 60 characters or 50 characters title length.
But we recommend that you keep your title length up to 60 characters or below 560 pixels. As you know the title appears in One line on the desktop and Two line on the smartphone and their font size is also limited, so if the title length is more than its viewable limit then google will show half of it. As in the example below:
Obviously, this sounds a bit strange to see but this thing is cosmetic. The use of the title for Google is to find the relevance from the page and when it indexes the pages, it builds the index, then tokenizes the content of the page.
For example: Let’s say there is a website of some clothing and its homepage has a photo of the shop and there is great content, but the website does not have a title (default is home), then Google itself creates a title related to website content.
So if you are new, then keep the title of your website less than 60 characters, but if you are an experienced person, then write the longer title related to the content of your page.
what a perfect title tag should contain:
Whatever keyword you are targeting your page for must be in your title, this is a very logical point that should be done according to SEO. The presence of keywords in the title gives a strong signal to the search engines and also tells the users that your page is the one they are searching for.
2. Longer Version of Keywords
As we talked about, the title keyword has to be done, but it does not mean that only keywords have to be used in the title. Remember that the keyword should be within the first 5 words and then the rest of the details.
3. CTR (Call to Action)
You can use some attention-grabbing words in your title, which excite people to click on your link, words like Get, Top, Find, What, How, Make, Affordable, Award-Winning, and many more. By using such words, you can give your title a call to action.
4. Do not use stop words
Write your title however you want, but do not use stop words in it such as: But, So, A, To, For, The, and everything else. You will find complete lists of stop words online, you can see that some stop words seem necessary how you would write a title tag without them, but this is where your creativity comes in handy, take some time and make a good title tag.
5. Brand Name
If your business is very popular then you can use your brand name in your title, but if your site is new and not so popular then using the brand name in the title is not so beneficial instead use better keywords.
Title tags are technically a ranking factor but are not very important, it is not that if you do not write a good title tag, then your site will not rank, but sometimes Google itself shows better title tags related to your website content in search results so that your website gets a better ranking.
A good title can increase your clicks, which will get more clicks on the same impression and more clicks means more traffic and traffic means Google will understand that this website is better for this query.
